Lotus Esprit: The Return of A Classic

In 1980 the first factory turbocharged Lotus, the Essex Esprit was built, and these special editions were superseded by a production turbo car. The new turbocharged engine was known as the 910 type, and produced 210 horsepower, with an impressive 200 lb ft. of torque. 0-60 mph could be achieved in the low 5 second range, with a top speed of over 150 mph.
An "Esprit Replacement" is in the works at Lotus currently, and is the subject of much speculation, with many (inaccurate) spy shots and renderings in magazines. This car was intended to be introduced in 2008, but current assumptions within the company imply that the actual release date will be December 2009. The new design is targeted to compete with cars such as the Ferrari F430 and the Lamborghini Gallardo among others, with pricing in the region of $130,000.

Camaro: Welcome Back Chevy

Well it hasn't really returned but this is a step in the right direction. Everyone here at chevy-camaro.com have been hoping and waiting for this and finally here it is a look at the new
Chevy Camaro concept car unveiled at the 2006 Detroit Auto Show.
The new Camaro “will run with the best sports cars today,” Lutz said, which hopefully is a hint that it will go into production and soon. “We want to deliver astonishing value.” But GM officials declined to confirm that any final decision on a new Camaro has been made. They said the Camaro concept car will help them gauge public reaction about a Camaro revival. There are no plans for a 2006 or 2007 Camaro at this time. If a new Camaro is produced it will be 2008 at the earliest but more likely it will be 2009 before a new Camaro will be produced. Be sure to read our FAQ on the possibility of a 2009 Chevy Camaro.

Build Your Own Virtual Porsche

People everywhere love to drive Porsche. But something about a Boxster speaks with a voice like that of a Siren. It calls to you, and resistance seems futile. What its aerodynamically chiseled exterior promises is too enticing. What its aesthetically intelligent interior conveys is too compelling. If driving is your passion, there is no substitute for the sheer inspiration of the Boxster.
Every line, every curve and every carefully chiseled detail play a vital role in shaping, shifting and refining the flow of air. Charge into the wind, and the Boxster’s prominent front air ducts pass generous amounts of cool air to the engine’s radiators.

DaimlerChrysler Automobility Program

Automobility is about buying or leasing and adapting a vehicle that's exactly right for your lifestyle and transportation needs. When you buy or lease any new 2006, 2007, or 2008 model Chrysler, Jeep® or Dodge vehicle from a participating dealer, DaimlerChrysler will give you a cash reimbursement to help cover the cost of installing the adaptive driver or passenger equipment on your vehicle. Leased vehicles must be leased for a minimum of 12 months to be eligible. Adaptive equipment is defined as equipment required by persons with a permanent disability to drive, enter, exit and/or be transported safely in a motor vehicle. Factory optional equipment does not qualify for reimbursement.
Conversions to Dodge Caravan, Dodge Grand Caravan, and Chrysler Town & Country models may be reimbursed up to a maximum of $1,000. Conversions to all other eligible Chrysler, Jeep® or Dodge models qualify for a maximum reimbursement of $750. Dodge Sprinter models qualify for a maximum reimbursement of $500 on wheel chair lifts. Running boards qualify for a maximum reimbursement of $400. Alerting devices qualify for a maximum reimbursement of $200. These reimbursements will not be reduced or affected by any additional outside funding. Consult your dealer for complete eligibility requirements.

Porsche Boxster 911 Carrera

The six-cylinder ‘boxer’ engine is a definitive element within the 911 concept. Flat and compact, with a low center of gravity, its rear-mounted installation has generated optimum traction throughout more than four decades of continuous evolution. In today’s generation, its immediacy and sound are more inspirational than ever.
In terms of engineering, the 911 offers a simple definition of precision: Improve that which is essential. Remove that which is not. Focus on that which matters most: the driver. This same set of principles is also expressed in the all-new passenger compartment.
The new 911 chassis is not only more accomplished than before, it is also more comfortable to drive. The entire chassis concept has been carefully redesigned to offer agile handling and natural control in all driving scenarios. Every input is conveyed to the road with unprecedented immediacy and precision. Feedback to the driver is equally precise, enabling optimum car control.

2008 Maserati GT: Gran Turismo 411

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and in the case of the new Maserati GranTurismo, each and every one of those thousand words is "bla." Why? Because staring at the sexy coupe's gorgeous lines, we're reduced to speechless, drooling adolescents, and "bla" is the most coherent speech we can mutter.
Designed by Pininfarina, the GranTurismo made its debut at the 2007 Geneva Auto Show. It has a 4.2-liter V-8 that makes 405 hp at a lofty 7100 rpm, and 339 lb-ft of torque at 4,750. The computer-shifted V-8 screamer will dispense of the 0-60 run in 5.2 seconds and accelerate to a top speed of 177 mph. And with nearly perfect weight distribution (49% front, 51% rear), handling should be nothing short of exemplary.
At just over 192 inches long, this is a big coupe, and it seats four in reasonable comfort. The interior craftsmanship is typical Maserati gorgeous, and buyers can opt for made-to-order custom luggage by Salvatore Ferragamo. As if its name didn't already tell you, this new Maserati is the very definition of a Grand Tourer.

Cadillac CTS: Not Your Father's Cadillac

At the North American International Auto Show in January 2007, GM introduced the all-new CTS that will go on sale as a 2008 model. The base model will feature a 3.6-liter variable valve timing V6 with 258 hp and 252 lb-ft of torque. A second version will be offered, a new 3.6-liter direct-injection V6 VVT engine with an estimated 300 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque using regular unleaded gas. A six-speed manual transmission will be standard on all models. The six-speed Hydra-matic 6L50 automatic transmission will be opitional. Also on-demand all-wheel drive will be offered with the 258-hp engine and automatic transmission combo.
According to the current issue of Motor Trend, a coupe and station wagon version of the CTS may be produced and sold in the USA, although GM feels that they may be more successful in Europe. Also, an American model of a Cadillac based on the soon to be Saturn Astra may be in the USA as well in Sedan or 4-door hatch form.
